I am replacing my Ecostar with Tristar W3SP3206VSP. Is there any differences in the Prologic wiring of the two data lines? I selected this pump as it will line up with my piping etc. Thanks for any input or guidance.

I believe the TriStar pump is a direct drop in for the EcoStar and all the wiring will be the same.

Thanks very much for the response... My setup with PROLOGIC.. I know that it is compatible with it... I have been hearing that similar Tristar models now have separate data line conduit needed instead of branching off the data lines from the single conduit... I guess I will find out shortly...s* Thanks again!

Jim... thank you so very much... for sharing your awesome knowledge on this site.
I see now and have identified the correct wires on the control panel to run the new conduit. The RS 485 have four wires already attached to pump... . Do I leave the the (two) A and B wires that are already connected to the pump on the RS485 data plug as well and attach the new A and B wires with the wires already there... so in essence I am just adding the two wires from controller to the RS485 data plug at pump? Thanks again. Steve.

Hi Jim... attached are two photos. I understand the wiring. I am running the two data wires from the Aqua Plus controller and connecting to the RS485 data plug at the pump. My question is what do I do with the four wires that are already in the RS485 data plug at the pump..? Do I disconnect them and just use the two wires from the controller? My guess is that the four wires are going to the visual display? Thanks again. Steve.IMG_0402 pool pump wiring.jpgIMG_0400 pool pump wiring data.jpg

The four wires go to the existing display.

They will not be used.

Disconnect the wires and tape them off so that they are not able to make contact with anything.

Run the two new wires from the pump to the Prologic as indicated.

What is the Prologic software revision number?

Thank you Jim. The readout says Main Software revision- 4.40 and Display revision is 3.12.
I am using the Hayward shielded cable provided with the pump which is 2 wires ( black/ yellow) and 1 bare wire to run to pump. Do I need to put that shielded cable in flex conduit or can I use the cable with liquid tight connections at both ends... its about 8 feet. Thanks. Steve.

Use a liquid tight cordgrip, appropriately sized for the cable being used.
