Tree Stump Removal

I’m having a 15’x30’ oval pool installed in July.
I need to have 3 stumps grinded down from trees that were cut down. I just want to ensure there isn’t much settling of the ground. What should I fill the holes with? Tamp it afterwards with a gas tamper?

Under the pool ? What kind of trees ?

Grinding a stump doesn't remove it, only the top of it. The rest sits there just below grade and rots over time, causing a sinkhole. It'll take 10 years, maybe even more, but it will happen.

I cut 14 trees for my 1st pool and had the excavator pull the 5 or so stumps in the pool / patio area.

They are poplar trees.

If they are where the pool is going to be you HAVE to have them pulled out like @Newdude said. They will rot over time and cause many problems down the road with the pool. Sure don't want that!

Thanks. They are being removed. Just looking for what to fill and tamp the holes with
