We took a break and used our pool for the last month and now are starting work on laying the travertine. We first poured a ring of concrete around the pool to mortar the coping and plan to dry set the rest. Looking at the autocover box we noticed that the box is 3/4" too tall for the 1.25" coping. We were planing to mortar only the part on the concrete and glue to the metal track edge. Anyone have pavers laid on the autocover track edge or other methods of laying the coping? Travertine2.jpg

Here is one thread where they talk about how their landscaper did the coping on the auto cover. The post you are looking for is about half way down the page. I will look for more.'

We just had the coping done on out new pool with an autocover, but ours is an IG gunnite pool with gunnite formed cover box. The crew added a mortar layer on top of our bond beam to bring the surface even with the top of the cover track, but there was writing on the cover track from the Coverstar installer indicating that up to 1/2" of mortar on top of the cover track was also OK. Our coping was then set on top of that. We got the metal trays that hold addtional coping bullnose to form the cover box lid, so ours is likely different from yours in that regard as well.
