Travertine deck drainage question

We're nearing the 3/4 mark to the end of our pool remodel, we've had a travertine deck installed. Under the deck is 4" PVC that is tied into our roof gutter/downspouts. Along the way, it picks up water coming from the deck (center drains).

After a rain or when I pour water in the drain system, I can look in the drains (no strainers/covers yet installed) and see standing water. Water does drain out, but not all of it.

Is that a problem? I'm worried about mosquitos finding the water in the drain lines.

Once the pipe is laid and the crushed stone and sand is placed and compacted, does that throw off the ability for the water to drain properly?

In other words, does the compaction mess with the angle of the pipe?

Any help or insight on this is appreciated.

I did not check the water flow prior to the drainage lines being covered up, I was at work during the install.

I'm thinking about doing a "flow test". I'll pour two gallons of water in at the farthest point, shop vac the water up as it comes out the exit and remeasure. If two gallons come out, I'm good. If a gallon comes out, that means a gallon is staying in.
 
Ideally a drain pipe should be laid at an incline so that everything flows out and there is never any standing water. In outdoor drains, however, you rarely get this perfect. Moreover, many outdoor channel drains (and all pop-up drains) are built in a way that all of the water typically does not drain out (or does so very slowly). As long as the standing water is no higher than an inch or so, I wouldn't worry about it. More than two inches (i.e., half of your pipe) might cause an overflow during heavy rains, though.
 
Op I would voice your concerns to the pb.. I would think in a perfect world you should not have any standing water. [emoji3]
 
I install 100's of these types of drains and a little standing water is normal after a rain. It should dry out in 2-3 days. If you really want to test the effectiveness of the drain place a hose on the high side and turn it on. The water should flow out the low side and not back up. If it doesn't then contact the builder and ask them to correct the work. If you still have concerns that the water is standing in the pipe too long there are some solutions.
