I would like to put an object in the pool on the steps to give the critters a way to get out of the fall if they fall in (snakes, lizards, opossums...). Snakes and opossums can swim.. Lizards might not survive the fall. One option is to put a pool toy in, but I don't have one that submerges about 10 inches below the water so that the swimming critter could get hold of it and climb up. I have something that apparently saves frogs, but a couple of raccoons pulled it out of the pool with curiousity and punctured it. I can make up a contraption if I know which plastic to buy. The other option is to put a broken Polaris cleaner on the steps and tie it up somehow so that it does not move. Any ideas?
