Total Noob trying to not get hosed by pool salesmen

Hello everyone,

We are purchasing a pool and have compromised between ourselves to get a semi inground. After calling all over the place and looking online I discovered this site and am thrilled to have the information. I have questions about recommendation and thoughts on the selection process, would that question be best listed here or on a different thread?

I'm new here also, and when I asked a question pertaining to my vacuum on this forum, one of the moderators answered me and it seemed like he didn't have a problem with it. If you really need to get into detail with a problem or question however I would find the appropriate forum, as the people viewing on that forum are probably much more knowledgeable on the problem.

They are more general questions I think, specifically with doing a semi IG. I thought perhaps the 'Equipment - Under Construction' one or maybe 'Equipment - Above Ground Pools'?

While you're hoping around, making new threads and TFP friends, make sure you budget some time to read the TFP ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and already have the Vital Links you see below in my signature added to your own favorites menu. You will need those links, and they will keep you from the dreaded pool store money pit.

Thank you! I have printed out the ABC's and downloaded the Kindle version of the Pool School Book and will keep reading the threads!

Welcome, there are a lot of pool build threads here as well as some threads about regrets or things people would change about their build. It may be a good idea to read a few of those.
