Too Much FC Loss in AZ

5-7ppm per day is excessive. Especially in MA with CYA at 40-50. I'm in AZ and losing about 2.5ppm per day right now.

Are you testing with the FAS DPD test?

In Mesa. I’m losing 6ppm each day with my cya in the 40-50 range.

Two things to consider first:
1. Do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to rule-out algae
2. Increase your CYA. I can't imagen a CYA of 40 in AZ unless the pool gets a lot of shade. When I was non-salt here in TX I had my CYA at 60 minimum. The sun was too intense.

But make sure you are algae-free first.

Agree. Bump to 60. You will see reduction in FC loss. Assuming OCLT passes.
