Too much algeacide

a neighbor came over
To pour chlorine into my pool and instead poured in a half a gallon of algaecide HTH brand . What do I do now the water has gotten cloudy not terrible but I don't know what should my next step be . I do not have a pool professional around to call .. help

Maintain proper FC based on your CYA. The chlorine will be diminished quicker as it is oxidizing the algaecide. So be prepared to add more per day for awhile until algaecide is gone.

How will I know when the algaecide is gone?

That is what is wrong with algaecide, you cannot test for it.

So it will be gone when it is gone.
