Tiny bugs that won't go away....fruit flies????

I'm not sure if anyone has had this in there pool....but I have tiny little "fruit lies" (at least that's what they look like) on the surface of my pool. These tiny little things can actually jump on the surface of the pool. They are as tiny as fruit lies that I can't even pick them up with my net. I tried taking a picture of THEM, but they are so small that I can't seem to focus my lens to take the picture. Has anyone ever heard of such bugs. I mean... I see them mostly at the corners of my pool (but all are on the surface of my pool). Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I passed the overnight FC loss test, cc of 0.5, water is crystal clear...

i have the same problem, I believe those bugs are springtails. I also would like to get rid of them they are harmless but they are gross. Hopefully someone will come along and tell us a solution

I just looked up springtails. Is this what they call them? They are so microscopically small... hard to see only when you look closely and you see them jumping around the surface of your pool or you take a scoop of water in your hand and see them crawling on the palm of your hands...

You have the same thing?

Same thing, they do jump I guess that’s why there called springtails. Sure wish I knew how to get rid of them. I started using a sock in the skimmer basket to catch them, my sand filter doesn’t seem to filter them out

Yup... have a sand filter myself and it doesn't help with this. Let's hope someone will chime in here soon to help us figure this out.

Okay! to get rid of these THINGS for good for me, I'll need to fill a spray bottle with water and a bit of dish soap and spray the edges of the pool.

Question: is this good for the pool..would this ruin any chemical balance in my pool. I'm going to do this tomorrow (if not tonight) cause I can't stand these little creatures. Gross.

Done!!! keeping my fingers crossed cause I didn't go swimming this afternoon because of these tiny creatures. Eerrggghhh

any luck with the bugs. Thought I got rid of them with the soap idea, but there back. Maybe it takes a few applications to get them all. Also the dead ones keep floating on the surface. I think I will try adding de to the filter. Since it’s cooled off for a few days in mo. I’m also going to bring my fc to shock level, if all the above don’t work I quit!
