It sounds like no flow on the suction side of the pump. It looks like in the second picture, you have the basket lid off and you have filled it with a hose, I don't know if you have a check valve on the suction side (I don't). If I prime my pump, water flows backwards to the pool leaving the suction basket only partially filled. You could try flowing water either from the pump back to the pool or from the skimmer to the pump basket. You could try to wrap some duct tape around a garden hose and shove it in the pipe or you could try one of these, they are available at Home Depot https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000CBIWC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So this was the comment that lead to my fix. Firstly, thank you. The basket not filling with water alerted me and furthered my theory that the issue must be between the skimmer and the pump. Fior teh heck of it, I tried to blow the line again wondering if there was debris in the line or maybe an animal. Nothing would come through the skimmer so I returned to the skimmer and started examining that. Wouldn't you know.... the dang rubber stop from the Gizmo was stuck in the skimmer hole which was allowing just a little water to be pumped out... I pulled the rubber stop out and boom- pressure fixed and onto to SLAM. Thanks for taking the time to comment, really helped me figure this out and avoid the service call. There was also a comment stating they did not think it was a pump issue, that was helpful too.
