I have a spa that’s on level with the pool and the top sides and the top ledge of the spa where the water overflows to the pool is done with 1x2 tiles. Two years ago I saw that the tiles were loose and when knocked on them sounded hollow. I had it repaired took out all the hollow sounding ones and retailed it and groute. Now it’s doing the same. Called a few pool companies but they don’t want to come out for such a small job.

So I am thinking maybe I’ll just do it myself. Anyone have any experience doing this?

What kind of mortar and grout would you use? I was thinking of grout mixed with epoxy but not sure about the mortar

Just had the same discussion on this thread. Have a read of it then happy to answer any questions…

Which would you recommend? E-z patch or starlike evo epoxy grout ?

Pro or cons on either of these?

I have a spa overflow with 1x2 with tiles falling off the far end. Guessing from water underneath during freezes.

I have been very happy using e-z patch.
