Tightening union in System 3 Filter

Hi All,

Does anyone have experience on tightening this union for a System 3 filter? I can’t get it to budge in any direction. Also can’t get a strap wrench in it.

There is an O ring behind that fitting. Don't overtighten and crack that nut, the whole assembly would need to be replaced.

Go gentle with the pliers, they have ALOT of leverage both to squeeze and to turn.

Thanks guys! Which way do I turn to loosen? Left or right?

You have to disassemble the filter to fix it. The outside nut basically is a lock nut .

What do you mean? Why do I need access to the inside to loosen this?
