We have some pretty sever thunder storms move through here today and now my Intellicenter is dead. No power at all. None of the circuit breakers or fuses are popped. My Pentair Intelliflow pump still works. That is powered from a 220V electrical outlet who's breaker in in the Intellicenter so I know there is power to the power bus. My Pentair Hybird heater has power but the display just has boxes going across the top line. No words. I'm not sure if that was damaged also or if the display looks like that because it lost communication with the Intellicenter. My heater and Intellicenter is just over 2 years old so I believe my heater is still under warrantee (if it will be honored under the circumstance) but the intellicenter only has a 1 year warrantee on it. I could not find a Pentair model number on the control board itself but I believe I have a I5P system that was upgraded to a I10PS.
The schematic on the inside of the enclosure states my control board 's part number is 522079.

I still can pump water but everything else is down. My heater, my SWG, everything...... On top of everything else my PB no longer services my area and finding pool tech around here is like finding gold.

I don't know where to start in addressing this problem and how I'm going to maintain the pool until I do. Any suggestions??

I can't help on the automation. Just use PoolMath and liquid chlorine to maintain your FC levels, as you can use your pump to circulate water. If that is not true, drop a sump pump in a bucket into the shallow end and pour liquid chlorine over the sump pump. It will circulate fine.

Sounds very similar to my issue I had last year... Intellicenter Dead

Was a dead board. Fortunately replaced under warranty.

I did reach out to the guy who sold me the equipment. He is reaching out to his Pentair Rep. He is most concerned about the availability of parts.

Well it looks like this is going to be a long process. For now I am thinking about how I can minimize the chance this happening again in the future. I was considering a surge suppressor on the pool sub-panel but I read in an earlier post from Jonrahbe that his surge came through the Comm port. Anyone out there have any recommendation on how best to protect the equipment? I will not consider any recommendation too outrageous. :laughblue:

They make surge protection for ethernet connections also. I added those because I'm pretty sure that's how mine came in, since my network switch in my house was fried as well.

I added a type 1 SPD to the panel because I had no additional breaker slots. Also added one to my main breaker panel.

If you search the pool forum for surge protection you will find other recommendations as well.
