Thick White buildup around spa tiles

Hello,

Does anyone know what this might be? It doesn't look like calcium buildup, more like white thinset. I am only seeing it around the spa...no where else and I have glass tile throughout my pool. My pool was completed about 5 months ago, Is this something that should be addressed by the builder?

You have effloresence. It is the water on one side of the wall leaching through and migrating the minerals to the non water side. Sealing of the gunite shell should have been done and can minimize this effect.

You can clean it up with muriatic acid. Be careful using it. The effloresence will return.
