Today's chuckle:

So, I finally found an above ground pool size that fits within my town's pool guidelines...an Intex 10'x30" pool (basically only baby pools allowed) :). So, when I ordered the pool tonight, I knew enough to avoid buying the complete pool package so I could get a better pump/filter. So I wander over to pool school....

....only to find out the basic OTO testing kits are the same dang ones my parents had us use (40 years ago) for our inground pool. The more things change, the more they stay the same :)

And, it'll be pretty easy for me to get back into the testing groove...I think I did it every Saturday and Sunday for about 10 years ;)

Take a look at Test Kits Compared
The OTO portion of the test is not used for accurate FC testing. You use the FAS-DPD test for accurate test results.
Marty, thanks but it's a 150 dollar pool whose water will barely clear my kneecaps...so I'm using the cheapest. simplest testing route available. But regardless, the post wasn't about test kit quality, it was to highlight the fact that the same basic test kits have not changed in 50 years. I wouldn't have thought it was possible, but yet it is. Hence, the chuckle.
