The Masks are coming off

Not. One. Sniffle.

and same
I haven't been sick*, but allergies suck and so I cannot say the same about the sniffles. I wish I could be sniffle free.

*near the start of everything I did get one small cold, but I'm pretty sure that was pre-mask and everything was pretty much business as usual still. That was followed by my wife getting really sick. I still think it was COVID, but she got tested and it was negative. Then again at that point I'm pretty sure the false negative rates on the tests were pretty high.

*Edit. People related sniffles. Allergies are a different animal and I just started shots. I've had many allergy sniffles. :ROFLMAO:

Ah that makes sense.

My allergies usually aren't too bad. I've been taking Allegra as needed since my allergies started about 7 years ago which works decently to stop a majority of the symptoms. In the past couple months I started taking Flonase too, and the combo is pretty effective. But I'd rather not half to take allergy meds for the rest of my life.

I did an allergy test about two months back and the result was dust mites and grass pollen. So, there's no chance of avoiding my allergy triggers, and the dust mites explain why I have a stuffy nose even in winter. I'm thinking I'll do the allergy shots as well.

No mask in weeks, since the county-wide mandate was ended. If I run into an establishment requires one (none so far) I will find another business to patronize. Not a big deal.

That’s what I got. And also cats and dogs. I’ve been on the never ending cocktail of OTC meds/sprays for 10 years. There have even been a handful of prescriptions. Like steroid sprays and better pills.

I finally got sick enough of it to agree to the shots. The only reason I put it off is I just don’t have the time. For me it’s weekly shots for 6 months and then monthly for about 5 years. With 2 kids and all activities resumed, It’s hard to find a time that works.

Our school district is having a special school board meeting to discuss covid policies for the remaining 2 weeks of school. Several surrounding districts have dropped masking in the schools.

You're absolutely right, the kids have been troopers wearing them all day.
My son said his 1st grade teacher had the whole class do a no mask dance to start the day. He said 2 kids still had them on but we had a talk with him ahead of time about how it is their parents' decision and do not say anything to them. That's all we need is for a note to come home saying our kid was teasing other kids by saying "my dad said masks are stupid and only idiots are still wearing them".... 🤦‍♂️

Good plan to get ahead of that! Our county positivity rate is 0%. At this point I was fine with the school board deciding either way (mask or no mask). And that is saying a lot considering that we covid homeschooled (because the virtual option was terrible) for half the year. Our district did a fantastic job this year with many difficult decisions.

You know what I have not had in over a year. The flu, or a cold. I think I am just going to become a mask person whenever I am in an enclosed space that has a lot of people. Stores and planes for sure. Restaurants is just not practical, and my bar days are pretty much over.

I hear ya. I’m like a 10 sinus infection a year guy for over 30 years. Haven’t had 1 in over a year. I planted my garden today. Wore a mask. Feel great now vs having to med up.
