Well- the yard had more slope than expected so the excavation to level actually involved two feet in the end. In order to pass inspection we cannot have less than 48” above grade all the way out to 4 feet from pool. My husband did our first pool in 2001. We are 21 years older now and I am paying to have this one installed. Boy am I paying… 
. The photos are from 2nd floor so really don’t convey the level of destruction a couple of guys and an earth mover can achieve in one afternoon. There is a large pile of sand in the driveway, and the pool assembly begins Thursday afternoon.
