Hello,

My AFS light turns on. I have a Pentair 250 Mastertemp. I replace the AFS. Light still goes on. I call a pool company out. They say the board is bad and I need a new one. I buy a new board and put it in. Its the newer 6 button board as opposed to the obsolete 5 button board. It still says 'AFS ERR' before starting. My blower is quiet and has excellent suction to trigger the switch I also checked the new switch and it works. The heater is actually working and heating, but I would love to get this error from coming up every time before starting.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I'm at a loss. I've tried everything.

Have you checked to make sure the wiring from the switch to the board is good all the way? I'm assuming it wouldn't fire if there was a short or an open in that part of the circui, but I know that the wiring harness inside those heaters can wear over time. Beyond that, I'd be at a loss.

Hello and thanks for commenting.

I have indeed. I read sometimes mice or critters can chew the wires. Mine look new. I even redid the connectors to the AFS on the offchance their was some corrsion issue. I also checked the tub, as someone in a YouTube video had a leaky coil and the water restricted the airflow. My tub is dry.

It's the craziest thing: right before it fires up, it gives that 'AFS ERR' but the darn thing works and heats fine. I've reset the whole system from the main Pentair panel thinking maybe something there was causing the issue. No luck.
