I started the year with a green mess. We had closed the pool very late in the year, as we had to wait for our new winter cover to be built and shipped. I couldn't keep up wth the autumn leaves that seemed to aim themselves for the pool.

I had tried to SLAM at the beginning of the season (mid-May in our part of NJ) and had gotten the water to "OK" status, but then the weather got hot and I started my annual fight with algae. This time around I was armed with a TF100 kit, and I pledged to SLAM super-patiently until all three tests had been passed. During this SLAM I brushed multiple times a day, did a deep clean of my sand filter and, perhaps most importantly, removed the pool light from its niche and manually cleaned out the niche and the light's housing. All of these things I have learned from the TFP community. After a week, I was able to finish the SLAM since I'd passed all three tests. My pool water has never looked this clean and clear. I'm now helping my neighbor make the move from pool-store advice to the TFP Way.

THANK YOU for being a great resource!

Looks great! :goodjob: Now all you have to do is stick around and help others who encounter the same thing. Plus, before you know it, closing time will be here and others in your area will be happy to having closing tips from you. :)
