We moved into a new house in Jan., and soon realized we inherited a Bacquil pool. After just a little research (what the heck is Bacquil?) we realized that upon opening the pool we needed to do the conversion so that we could enjoy the pool this summer. So thankful for this site that helped us step by step with the conversion -- we are almost there, maintaining FC overnight, and day 1 of zero CC. Since we started late (7 days ago), we decided to empty/refill half of the pool water. We then started the chemical process as outlined, checking the FC levels every hour or so for 3-4 days, vacuuming and cleaning nonstop. Finally yesterday we changed out the sand in the filter, added CYA and should be complete by tomorrow. Cannot say how much we appreciated the help this forum provided. One question - we do have the liner that has pulled away from the pool edge in 4-5 places (see picture near steps below). This liner, believe it or not, is 30 years old and otherwise is in perfect shape (Bacquil helped I would imagine). Suggestions on how we can get the liner reattached for this season? Will likely get a new liner at the end of the summer
