TF-100 readings and my SLAM process

If the chlorine is holding pretty good, you might be at the stage where a little DE added to your sand filter would clear things up. Just be sure you do it when you;re around to babysit, because people have reported major pressure increases within hours after adding. You want to be there to keep an eye on it so you can backwash when needed.

My pressure does not drop real quick with back washing, but I will try it. Should I add the 1/4 cup mixed with water or go with 1/8 cup mixed with water

Go SLOW on the DE if you do it. I am about to board a flight so can't help much now. Do it in the daylight anyway the first time. Let someone walk you through it. It's easy, but you need to know your clean pressure and I'm not sure we know that yet.

Do you see what I see!!!! I see a ring, a snorkel, black rubber stopper caps and diamonds/squares on bottom of pool!
Please note they were not left in there from last season. Daughter was in there a month ago and took the stuff in and I lost the stoppers right before slam process.

:D

Oh hey, I like that!

Holding FC residuals longer and clearing water is what you're looking for now. It's coming, just be patient and don't give up. This is where people sometimes think it's over, and back off. Don't get fooled....Keep hitting it just as hard and you'll get there. Way to go!

As far as your question on DE and how much to add, if you're still wondering. Backwash until clear. Obviously your water is cloudy so as clear as the current water. Back to Filter setting and check your "clean" pressure. Add 1/8 cup. Check the pressure. You're shooting for about a 1 psi rise. I don't see what size your filter is from your signature but I wouldn't add more than 1/2 cup until you've had some more experience with it.

I have read where some think it is over. I know it is not based off of everything I have been learning here. I still need to get it clearer and have a CC of .5 or less and hold My FC. If I am not holding my FC within reason then the chlorine is still eating. I also need to pass a overnight loss test. I think that has to be 2ppm or less

OK. It is in your signature, I just missed it! My filter I use has 350 lbs of sand. Yours has 55 lbs. I use about 1 cup plus a little bit when I use DE so... I'd wager 1/4 cup would be about right, but start with 1/8 cup.

Thanks. I will do a backwash today as needle picked up this morning after cleaning the over the wall skimmer and then go get some DE.

I brushed the sides and bottom. Now have the auto cleaner running. Will back wash and add DE later today since my needle rose after I cleaned the skimmer. I think it must have dropped lowered due to the blockage with debris on the screen.

I also removed various items from pool now that I could see them...lol
