Anyone know if I can use my TF-100 kit to test my water hardness from my faucet? We have a water softener but I am seeing scale buildup around fixtures so thought I could use what I have as opposed to buying water hardnesss strips. Assuming I can use my pool kit, what would the numbers need to be for "soft" water?

You can use your CH kit.
You should use this process -- If you expect that your CH level is very low, you can do the test so that each drop is 10, instead of 25, to get some extra precision. Use 25 ml of pool water, 20 drops of R-0010, 5 drops of R-0011L, and multiply the number of drops of R-0012 by 10 to get your CH level.
If your water softener is working it should be quite low.

Sorry, I should clarify. My pool is on autofill and bypasses the water softener-and the CH is in range. I am simply wanting to test the hardness of the water in my kitchen using supplies I already have. But I don't know if I can and what "softened" water should read?

I would assume that the hardness in your water should be close to 0 after going through a water softener. Sodium replaces the calcium, magnesium, potassium, etc.

I've used my TF-100 to test my house water supply. Grab a sample before your softener and then a sample coming out of your faucet and you can check the difference to see how well it is working.
The TF-100 and Taylor test kits measure ppm of calcium hardness. Softener usually deals in "grains" of total hardness though. Softener test strips usually measure total hardness (calcium and magnesium).
