Testing question

For anybody with a fas-dpd kit, when using the dpd powder, how crucial is the amount of powder in each scoop you add when it says add to dippers. I've watched a video by the company before and they had the dippers like overflowing so I always just did a slightly heaping scoop so that I wouldn't waste too much. But what if I did a level scoop each time? I'm just not quite sure how this chemical interaction works and maybe if I did it would give me more of a warm fuzzy that I'm putting the right amount in. And also does my previous question apply when using the 10 mL or 25 ml mark as well. Should the amount in each scoop change? If anybody could help me understand how the powder works that would be awesome. Thanks guys

The exact amount of R-0870 powder used is not critical. The goal is to add more than you really need rather than using too little. Using too little R-0870 powder can throw off the results of the test. You need to use enough to bind to all of the chlorine that is present. Adding extra, within reason, has no effect. At very high FC levels it is likely that you will need to use more than the normal amount.

I use a level scoop, that is enough to work for my FC level. You may need more. If you go from 10ml to 25ml, you don't need 2.5x more, but can get away with 2 scoops instead of 2.5 scoops, or maybe 1 huge scoop. We cant answer that. Don't be stingy though, you need to make sure you use enough.
