Hello all.
First time caller, long time listener here.
I have a question or two about testing and logging on the pool math app.
First, the OTO chlorine test on the color block with the ph test, is that recorded anywhere and does it matter since I’m doing the other chlorine tests in the kit anyway ?

Second, the kit had me testing for combined chloramines (CC) and I’m not seeing where to add that to the app.

Third, the total of my FC test and the CC test should be recorded at “total chlorine (TC) but the app only has an entry for “combined chlorine”.
So I just want to be sure I recording the correct stuff in the appropriate areas.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

You need to hit the gear symbol while the app is open and set up the parameters for all those. You won't find TC but FC and CC are. We don't care about TC. It's the FC per your CYA level and not more then 1 ppm CC but I'm not happy with 1 ppm CC and aim for .5 max.

That chlorine “test” that is next to the pH test in the little blue box is more just for reassurance so you know if there’s chlorine in the pool. Do not use those numbers to plug into your app. Definitely use the powder and other FC testing reagents for accurate FC and CC results.

You gotta go to the settings in the app and chose “Track Chlorine Contaminants” option. Other “optional” options that I use are tracking water temperature and borates. There are many others to choose from but that’s how you set it up to track your CCs. 🙂 I posted some screenshots below to show you how to get to it on the app!

There isn’t a “total chlorine” option on PoolMath. Basically just record your FC and CC numbers and add them to know your TC. Total Chlorine really isn’t that important, though. Just FC and CC are what you’ll see talked about most in here.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
You are very welcome! Let us know if you have any other questions!!
