Test Salt in Chlorine Pool?

I've been chlorinating my pool using liquid chlorine since taking ownership last year. Is there any reason to purchase a salt water test (K-1766) to compliment my K-2006 test kit?

In my opinion, it is useful to track the salinity of your water.

Received my K-1766 today and the pool testing 1,000 ppm. I’m considering adding salt to improve the water feel.
