teflon tape

I just installed a Stenner pump. I used a 2" to 1/2" T fitting to put the injection nozzle into the main pool line.

It has a very small leak, like a couple of drips every few min. I was wondering if I could wrap a little teflon tape around the injector or would that be a no-no?

This is not a leak with the injector. I had a plug in the 1/2" hole prior to installing the injector and that had a very small leak also. And when i say leak, you would only feel it if you put your hand on it and it would be slightly wet.

If we're talking the pipe threads, yes, you should have teflon tape on the threads.

If it's a compression fitting, no.

for compression fittings, I have in the past put a little pipe dope on the compression sleeve and it work fine.

Thank you. Its not a compression fitting. I just dont want to tighten plastic so tight i break it. Ill use teflon in the morning.
