I was getting what looked like pollen / clumps on the surface at the edges. I've seen some other posts that said they were either thrips or springtails.

Pool chemistry for chlorine is solid, everything else is a little off here and there, but nothing crazy.

I started putting in a cup of dish soap, didn't work.
I put in skimmer socks, now I'm catching hundreds / thousands a day in the socks and nothing on the surface. I put in new socks daily, and once again overnight it fills up with these super tiny things.

I cannot zoom in anymore put they're the size of a pinpoint, not exaggerating, they're that small.

Thoughts? Next steps?

That seems a bit drastic but I understand. Wait them out a bit, they will probably disappear. If you've had a significant amount of rain recently, they may have been washed in from the surrounding landscape. If you haven't had them before it may just be an isolated infestation.

Never had them before but it has been raining a lot. I'm going to add DE to the surrounding sod. My wife keeps insisting I shock the pool ever 2-3 weeks, I haven't. FC is always around 6.5.
