I started losing 3" of water a day last week. After searching for several days I found a 1" tear in the vinyl on the deep end. It is on the floor about 2" from the wall. The hole appeared to be sucking water rapidly and there is a 4" x 4" void under it. I didn't think the depression is very deep maybe 2". I poured a lot of sand into the hole and it just sucked it up. I couldn't fill it because it seemed like the sand was being washed away.
I finally patched it with a 2.5" x2.5" patch. I dye checked the patch today and it seems to be holding great. My problem is that the patch and liner around it are pulled into the 4" x4" x1" depression.
My question is, can I put a 6"x6" patch over the depresssion. Also, if I put another patch on should I just glue the perimeter above the depression?
