Taylor TF-100 - R-7065 (Cyanuric Acid Standard)

The R-7065 is basically like pool water with 50ppm CYA. You just perform the CYA test with R-0013 and the R-7065 as you would a regular pool water but the R-7065 takes the place of pool water.

Be very careful, most folks fail to get the standard to read with the circular view tube. It typically comes out lower, like 40ppm. The Taylor #9056 hi-range comparator block reads closer to 50ppm with the standard. Lighting conditions matter a lot.

That's to calibrate you.

Use it in place of pool water and mix it with the R-0013. Then perfect your technique so that you get 50. Try distance, lighting, dribbling, filling a step at a time, whatever it takes. Once you get consistently 50 CYA, use that same technique when testing your pool water and you will have no doubts or anxiety about your CYA reading. .
