Ok.. So first thoughts... How are these so different? TA, FC, CYA and CH are the biggest differences. He also told me that 6FC is too high. I have been shooting for 8FC. Am I going to end up bleaching my liner? Or will my CYA protect it? He even said that even with high CYA, the sun will eliminate ALL the FC in two hours no matter how high it is and told me to adjust my SWG to run 12hrs instead of 8 and to reduce it down 10%.

My test results:
FC: 8
CC: .2
PH: 7.7
TA: 70
CH: 250
CYA: 60
Salt: 3000
Pool Store Results:
FC: 6.02
CC: .70
PH: 7.8
TA: 45 !!!!
CH: 167
CYA: 51
Salt: 2900
Phosphate: 419

That is an interesting statement, which of course, the facts prove false. I manually dose my chlorine, I haven't invested in a SWG, yet. If the pool store employee's statement was correct, I'd be in trouble, not trouble free. Example, I dose chlorine at the end of the day. My cya is 40 so chlorine range is minimum 3, target 5 - 7. I dose to get it to up to 7 or so ppm then the next afternoon I test. FC ranges from 4.8 up to 5.6 ppm then I dose back up to 7.

So if he was correct, when I test at 3:30 pm or so each day, I would be at 0 FC rather than 4.8 to 5.6. (yes, I use 25 mil, just because I want to). So TFPC methods and my experience indicate he is not speaking from experience.

LOL. The only thing I bought from them was a snake oil charm that I am supposed to hang over the skimmer basket. If I bring it in every week he'll recharge it for $30 with his magic and my pool should be ok even if I follow TFP advice. jk I did buy some liquid chlorine because they have 12.5% and it was a good deal (that's why I went in the first place).

Yeah, I was wondering how they measured 6.02 FC! The only thing they wanted to sell me was Alkaline booster, but I declined. I phosphates were also close to the border, which is surprising to me as this is our first season with the pool and i've fertilized the grass maybe twice.... and the grass is presently a good 15feet from the pool edge.
