Part of the freebies when purchased hot tub last week was a Taylor k-1000 basic.

I'm going to use the pH comparator for hot tub (with the r-0014 reagent) and keep the k-2006 comparator for my pool (with the r-0004 reagent).

Is there any value to the r-0600 reagent for TC testing? Even for quick tests to sample before and after soaks to find a happy chlorine demand need?

You cannot infer any chlorine level from the test. If it stays clear then you have no chlorine, if it turns yellow you have chlorine in the water, if it turns golden you have lots of chlorine in the water. That is really all it tells you.
