I have an in ground custom gunite pool pool that is only 4 years old. The glass tile on the 15X25 tanning ledge started lifting off of the cement underneath. I have drained the pool and removed all of the tile and damage cement underneath as well as all the hollow pockets underneath. I then tried to put hydraulic cement back in preparation to tile with glass tile again but that has turned into a failure as the cement hardens so fast that I can't keep it level as I move along so what I have at this point is a bunch of 2'x3' patches of hydraulic cement. I decided it's probably best to demo that cement out and start over. What product can I use to go on top of the rough base that can be floated out smooth before drying. ultimately tiling with glass tile once it has cured.
