TA test help

Using my TF-100 test kit and attempting to test Total Alkalinity. My question is when I add the R-0009, I see a bit of red but once I swirl, it disappears. I need the water to all turn red, correct? Because I'm at 30 drops currently... Hope this makes sense! Probably a silly question.

Yes, that's my understanding. The water will turn red briefly and then clear again after every drop. When it stays red that's where you stop. 30 drops is sure a lot though.

You keep adding drops until there is no further change in color and subtract the last drop. I always get 2 shades of red(light and strong) we call it barbie pink. You should get the speedstir, makes it easier.

I completed my first test using a Speedstir. Should I be concerned at my TA level? Pool was filled with well water. Would love some feedback.

You'll prob just have to keep muriatic acid on hand lower your PH when it gets above 7.8/8 to 7.4 (lower effect on TA) or 7.2 (will slowly bring TA down).
