TA- how long to retest?

Our TA went low, to 30, usually its always been around 60 without change. We’ve gotten lax doing our winter pool maintenance. We added baking soda yesterday and testing this morning shows it at 40. We were conservative adding it. PH is currently 7.5.

It should've changed enough by now. Seeing that it's still low, you should increase some more. I'd get it to at least 50 and see it it (TA) and the pH remain stable for a while.

Thank you! I did the testing today and it read 70. It’s a good thing we were conservative on how much we added. I usually do the testing but DH did it this time. He tripped up on using 10 ml pool water to test and not 25 ml.

I feel good that it was at 60 before we “fixed”, it has been 60 since we opened the pool and 30 just didn’t make sense. I’m new enough to believe anything at this point though.
