Hello,
In previous years, I have used a chlorinator with typical trichloro tabs (HTH). Someone recommended switching to NST Prime because I’ve been having problems with CYA levels that are too high. I had to drain my pool and refill this year. Before checking up on it, I bought some of the Cal Hypo tabs and added to my chlorinator. It only ran for about 15 minutes before I thought twice thankfully and checked it out online where I found out this can cause an explosion! I quickly removed the pucks from the chlorinator, but will that 15 minutes I ran it cause a chemical problem?

Welcome to TFP.

Cause chemical problems where?

Your tablet chlorinator is contaminated and I would not use it for any tablets anymore.

Use a floater for any tabs in the future.

First, let me say that the trouble free pool method of liquid chlorine is really the best. I have a fiberglass pool that I have used cal hypo tablets in for the last 11 years. I like them because there’s no CYA buildup. I have had high calcium and some calcium deposits around my led bulbs which created a problem I also get calcium build up in my filter cartridge which can be cleaned out. And so now I’m thinking of switching over to the trouble free pool method. the NST prime tablets are designed to be slow dissolving in a cage type apparatus that they sell that goes in your skimmer. That is according to what I read. Usually it is recommended not to put tabs in skimmer. . if you don’t want to switch over liquid chlorine, you could try that approach for now and watch your calcium levels. I would not use your feeder anymore and again the TFP liquid chlorine method really seems to be best. I hope this helps you out of your current problem.
