Swimming Pool Maintenance Kit - how does the vacuum work?

Hi all,

I got the following kit with my new pool:

And I don't understand how the vacuum triangle thingy works. We also have the polaris turbo turtle but haven't figured out how to fit it onto our return (going to call the pool company) but in the meantime, it would be nice to vacuum the dirt out of the bottom of the pool. So any help is appreciated

It also helps to close off all skimmers/drains except the one you are vacuuming from. I have 2 skimmers and a main drain and I have to close all but either the shallow skimmer or deep skimmer in order to get the most suction out of the vacuum.

Tip for #5 - priming the vac hose.

I use the water hose. It lets me get close to the skimmer and does not break my back
