Goldline Aquarite SWG with T-Cell15. early in this season my salt level reading crashed by over 1000 points overnight with no water loss. climbed back to normal over a days time. salt content has been tested. Changed out t-cell but this phenomena continues. i thought main or display boards were involved but just got email from hayward tech that it could be flow switch getting stuck in on position, which energizes the cell even when the pump is off. with no salt to detect because no flow of water guess what, salt level crashes. makes perfect sense to me but in 17 years have never had a flow switch stick in on position.....could i be this lucky?

Apparently so. Your cell could have exploded as a result of hydrogen gas accumulating in the cell with no water flow. Flow switches should be consider a backup safety feature to ensure that the SWCG is not generating chlorine with no water flow. Primary means is to only power the SWCG controller when the pump is flowing water. One way to this by routing the power to the SWCG controller through a timer which is synced to turn on power after the pump is started and turn off the power before the pump stop flowing water.
