SWG disadvantages?

For new equipment in the US essentially everyone has switched to only using materials that are safe with SWG levels of salt water for all of their pool equipment. For older pieces of equipment the odds are good that it will also be fine, but there starts to be a little risk. Essentially everything that will rust dues to SWG levels of salt will rust from just water, only more slowly.
