After a bit of research, I bit the bullet and invested in a robot (Dolphin Active 20) from Marina Pool & Spas as recommended by many members here. They were awesome... super friendly and fast shipping.
Spent a few hours and got a lot done today:
Cleaned up rocks, leveled ground, and added a few leftover pavers for the new pad
Repurposed old booster vacuum return for an extra return and rearranged equipment with new plumbing
Installed new Calimar 3 hp variable speed pump
Vertically installed new Circupool RJ-60 salt water generator with flow switch pointing up
Rewired Intermatic timer with pump on line and swg on timer load
Flipped the breaker back on and everything turned on as expected, phew!
Still more work to do, but definitely a huge improvement. Here's a photo of the new setup.
I really appreciate everyone's advice, thank you... TFP strikes again! Now the waiting game begins until we can open the pool for the season...
