I've seen conflicting info from long time experts recently on this forum as to whether I should be concerned about managing CSI so that it's not too corrosive for a SWCG it a vinyl pool.

Right now, my CSI is floating around -0.5, and will continue to rise throughout the summer as the water gets warmer, but will fail to reach the typically suggested target of -0.3 - 0.0.

The best option I see for improving this is to add calcium, even though I know that I don't need calcium in a vinyl pool.

What do you think?

The CSI is not an indicator of 'corrosive' to a SWCG. CSI is related to calicum scaling or dissolving of plaster/cement. Not metals.

With a vinyl pool, If your CH is below 300 ppm, there is no need to track CSI.
