SWCG/Pump Same Timer?

Have only swcg connected to line terminals on Intermatic 104. Pump is connected to load terminals. Pump has only duration & rpm settings. Wish both pump & swcg to be on/off at same time. Will it blow up the swcg if I also connect pump to same load terminals? Or . . . is it better to install a second timer? Thanks very much.

No reason to have a second timer. SWG will work fine on same load with your pump.

Note that VS pumps are usually not connected to the timer. But as long as your VS pump can handle being switched by the timer it will work. You still have to make sure your pump programming is always running the pump at sufficient RPM for the SWG when the timer is on.

It's best to wire the the VS pump to the LINE and the SWG to the LOAD. The reason is the VS pump holds your settings by both LINE power and battery. No constant LINE power and it uses a non rechargeable battery. The battery dies and all programming is lost, the pump would not turn on and your SWG would not work because of "low flow". You'd have to replace the battery or wire it to the LINE side of the timer.

Match the timer on the VS pump to come on when the Intermatic is scheduled to turn on the LOAD (SWG)
