SWCG hookup question

Getting close to the end of this project and have a question about the location of the temperature probe. Instructions say to put it between the pump and the filter. I'd rather have it in the line before the actuator that feeds the solar panels, after the sand filter. Does it matter where the probe goes (as long as it's before the solar panels)?

As long as it is reading the pool or spa water temperature it does not really matter..

It can go after the filter and before the valve.
