Swapping cartridge filter inlet/outlet

Hello everyone. I have a waterway clearwater II cartridge filter. Can I switch the inlet and outlet sides? The way I want to set it up, to have the drain port face to the front, and to avoid having too many plumbing turns, it is more convenient for me to flip the whole thing around and just swap the in with the out. Not sure if Im explaining myself clearly. I have attached an image for visual.

Abort mission !!! The cartridges can't handle the reverse flow and pop / rip / crack almost immediatley.

If you keep the in the in, and the out the out, you can move the filter any which way you like.

Not advisable as that would reverse the flow in/out of the actual cratridge and damage it.
Any chance you can turn the entire pump/filter assembly around?
How many extra fittings are you talking about?

Hello again! Now debating if I should run 1.5in or 2in plumbing. Will be running underground and pouring a concrete slab so trying to decide. Pump/filter will be about 15-20 ft away. (1.5hp pump 100sq ft cartridge filter) What do you guys suggest? Thanks!

2 inch suction side from skimmers and you can do 1.5 inch back to returns :)

Use 2 way jandy valves on all the connections and high temp unions on the pump
