Hello,

My SWG stopped producing chlorine a couple months back. Pool was balanced, flow on, cell on, no error codes. My PLC1400 is a year old and clear of any buildup (I cleaned it anyway for good measure). My pool passed the overnight test without losing any Free Chlorine. Tested voltage at the SWG cell and it showed 0.8 volts. So power was not getting to the cell!

I opened the box to find the Aquapure board had a short/burn. I bought a new board and swapped it out and repaired the molex connector coming from the transformer. Now that I have everything put together, the display is showing the code "EC", meaning an external controller is preventing chlorine generation. Note that the sensors are working, Flow, Salinity, and Temperature. I don't have an external controller plugged in to the Aquapure board. All the DC/AC test points on the Aquapure board are in range according to the manual.

As a test, I did plug in a controller onto the Aquapure board and could successfully change the Chlorine % with my PDA/Indoor Panel, but it continued to be overridden by an "EC" code and would not turn on the cell.

I am at a loss. I've read practically every thread online for the Aquapure PLC1400 and cannot find another case that matches mine. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I was laying in bed and couldn’t sleep thinking about this problem. So I decided to skim the manual to see if there was anything I missed. I discovered that there is a jumper that if in the wrong position, could produce exactly what I’m experiencing. The jumper should not be in this position by default, but I bought it on eBay. I can’t go out to my unit right now in the middle of the night, but the eBay photo does show the jumper in position 2 as explained in the manual. Tomorrow I will move the jumper and hopefully solve the problem.
