Finally got time for the pool today. (Yes, it’s too late temp wise, but been busy) Testing today, and my ph is, well, about as “fluorescent purple” as it gets. Pool Math said add 63oz to get target from “9” (just guessing, probably 12?) so I did and about 45-60 minutes later, it’s the same. Added another 128oz and about an hour and half later, same. Suggestion? (Out of acid, going to get some shortly)

What are the rest of the test results? Can you test tap water and get a normal-ish result?

Objective is to get ph in lower 7’s and start SLAM
Can you clean the vial with alcohol and test again? Also test tap water and make sure you don’t have bad reagents. Your TA is already at the low end so adding more acid would tank it further which makes the pH reading suspect. Got a picture of the test result?

I see a pH of 7.2 in one picture and 8.2 in the other. It’s the shade of the color you judge, not how deep it is (if that makes sense)

The left pic (7.2) is tap water, the right pic (you say 8.2, I say it’s higher , maybe our eye sight are different, is pool water)
The right pic is definitely a darker shade of the similar
Color but more than 8.2 would be purple. That picture is just deep pink still. You can try adding a bit more acid and see where it lands. But don’t adjust more pH than 0.4 at a time so you don’t overshoot.
