Left my pool unattended for 4 days and my chlorine tablet ran out . It was slightly green when I came back with little red worms. Shocked it twice along with algaecide and still worms. Help
We have a slightly different way of handling pools here, where you get a test kit you can rely on to give good information about the levels of your pool, cutting the cord with any pool stores and maintenance services that add chemicals, and adding chemicals yourself. See: Pool Care Basics
The worms may or may not be related to chemical levels. Sometimes I get millipedes suiciding into my pool en masse, and there's really nothing to be done about that. The "slightly green" is much more of an issue, though, as it indicates you are probably low on FC for your level of CYA, and the pool isn't being sufficiently sanitized, which can lead to a lot of health-related issues that you really don't want to worry about.
How are you currently testing your pool? Can you share a photo of your pool and equipment pad? Sounds like you're sanitizing with tabs, which might mean your CYA is really high - but without testing from a proper test kit like one of the ones in Test Kits Compared, it's difficult to know for sure.
Also, if you can Create your Signature, it'll help us with knowing what sort of equipment and pool you have.
If you have visible algae (green) you need to do the SLAM Process with liquid chlorine to eradicate the algae.
But you must have a proper test kit to accomplish this

It is much different than a one time “shock” of the pool.
Your required slam fc level & regular maintainence fc level is dependent upon your cya level FC/CYA Levels
Your cya level may be very high if you use Trichlor pucks for daily chlorination. The only way to lower cya is to replace water.
Once you get a test kit you will know where you stand.
Until then you can add 5ppm worth of liquid chlorine to the pool each day (slowly infront of a running return) to keep things from getting worse. Use PoolMath to calculate amounts.
