Everything is now within TFP recommended ranges!
Between Pool School and everyone's help here, I've gone from knowing almost nothing about pools to feeling like I have a new super power and my pool has probably never been better
Other things my "pool service" never did in 2.5 year that seem crazy now:
* No pressure gauge on my filter. An old one was screwed in there, but practically unrecognizable since it had blown and there was no longer a face or glass. I've now installed a new one, along with a new filter to get a good baseline. The old cartridge was over a year old and wasn't cleaning up too nice.
* Embarrassed to admit this, but no weir on my skimmer. No wonder I was constantly having to skim my pool between services. I'd had a pool years ago and always kinda wondered why this current pool did not have a "flap" but I kinda stopped questioning it... If it was that necessary, surely my "pool service" would have told me about it and/or even offered to install one for a price, right??
I have a replacement weir coming in tomorrow and very much looking forward to getting it installed. I can only begin to imagine how much that is going to help will all the bugs, etc. on my pool surface
I might get a robot someday, but I figured I'd just use a manual vacuum head for now and see how much of a pain that is first. The only thing I'm missing is the vacuum plate attachment. I think I found one that would work on Amazon, but I should probably just call Pentair and make sure.
Again, amazed how much I've learned and accomplished in just a couple of weeks and really appreciate all the help here.
If anyone has any robot suggestions for a 14K gallon pool, I'll certainly entertain them
