Hi all
Newly registered but have been using this forum to get me schooled ( this is the 2nd year I ran my pool)
I'm after advice on what to do (or not to do) as I have a leak in the skimmer line to the pump. I know because the pool is closed, I took the pump out and there are no leaks at the valves upstream of the pump. The water level in the pool has come down to the skimmer level and has been at that level for a month. There is still water in one of the skimmer baskets but in the other one the water is 30cm below the bottom of the basket. I put in 5l of water and in 5 min the water level went down to where it was before. So I think this proves the leak is in the line.
There's at least 15m from the skimmer to the pump house. Not really keen to dig everything up. Is this the only option? The pool has 2 skimmer, 1 vacuum port and a main drain. If a fix is impossible without digging, what about plugging the leaking line and using 1 skimmer only?
I'm based in Italy if someone knows of reputable companies for this job.
Many thanks in advance

Welcome to TFP.

If your pump gets adequate water flow from one skimmer and the leaking one plugged you can run it that way. You run the risk of the pump running dry if the one skimmer gets clogged.
