Stuck heat-pump switch

I have a Hayward heat pump, and noticed that after it stays on for a while (~8h), the power switch is nearly impossible to turn off. After lowering the thermostat to force the blower to halt (or turning off the filter pump), the switch is able to be turned off after a few hours.

Conversely, after a winter of inactivity, turning on the heat pump is similarly difficult (though not nearly as much).

Anybody run into anything like this?

Not really. But if I let it rest for a while, the switch returns to being easy to flip on and off. Until then, you can force it off by pressing it past the point one would normally have to. It’s probably affected by heat from various sources.
