Struggling to identify multiport valve model

Hi all, I’m new to the site and new to forum use in general. I hope I am posting this correctly.

The sight glass on my MPV is cracked pretty badly. When I removed to inspect, there was no gasket behind it (go figure). I’m struggling to figure out what model it might be. All the stickers have worn away over the years, and I don’t see any part number molded onto the side. I’m too scared to backwash until it’s replaced. I’m pretty sure it’s Hayward but that’s all I know. Can anyone identify this model?

Thank you for your response. I figured mine might be similar to that model, but if you look closely at the sight glass on the model you referenced, it’s not the same size or shape as mine. It’s much smaller and I don’t think a replacement sight glass for that model will thread onto my unit.

but if you look closely at the sight glass on the model you referenced, it’s not the same size or shape as mine.

The older valves had the larger, squared off sight glass. The newer valves have the smaller, rounded sight glass. The threads are the same size.

Thank you for confirming this. I did order and install the new style sight glass. The part # is the same as the old style, and the sight glass is so much smaller. I never would have guessed it would thread on, but it did.

Thank you for the help guys. To update this thread - I discovered from the molded stamp that I have a Hayward Vari-Flo Control 1-1/2" FIP Top Mount Multiport Valve, model #SP714-A. The sight glass style is completely different than what I previously had, but it threaded on perfectly despite looking too small. Good to go now!
